A Future with Hope:
Bread for the World Institute's
12th annual report on the state of world hunger
A Future With Hope: Hunger 2002 says that even in these uncertain political and economic times, we can make dramatic progress against hunger in the United States and around the world. In 2002, Congress and the President will make many important decisions regarding the reauthorization of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and the Food Stamps Program. The President also will join world leaders at the G-8 summit, where U.S. leadership could result in a multi-year commitment to engage with Africa in a partnership to boost development and cut hunger in half.

Through its analysis of anti-poverty programs and policies both here at home and abroad, its breakdown of hunger hotspots and updated data tables, Hunger 2002 challenges U.S. leadership to enact change that improves the well-being of hungry people worldwide.
